VP-KJD is serial 5910/6 in Kenya with East African Airways, 1953-1955, then registered as ZS-CBA until bu 1974-05-00

VP-KJG is serial 5911/7 in Kenya with East Africa Airways, 1952-1955, then registered as I-MISO, canc 1968-72 (ab-ix-co.uk)

VP-KJJ is serial 5912/8 also in Kenya with East African Airways 1952-1954, wo 1962.

I tried to correct but think I did not succeed. Can you do it for me?

A lot of Kenyan aircraft vith the VP-registration are incorrectly listed as in Bermuda. How can this be changed?

As you are probably aware, VP is used extensively as the prefix for smaller countries e.g.

Anguilla VP-A VP-AAA to VP-AZZ

Bermuda VP-B VQ-B VP-BAA to VP-BZZ, VQ-BAA to VQ-BZZ

British Virgin Islands VP-L VP-LAA to VP-LZZ

Cayman Islands VP-C VP-CAA to VP-CZZ

Falkland Islands VP-F VP-FAA to VP-FZZ

Gibraltar VP-G VP-GAA to VP-GZZ

Montserrat VP-M VP-MAA to VP-MZZ

The Internet list I accessed shows Kenya as

Kenya 5Y 5Y-AAA to 5Y-ZZZ

My understanding is that aircraft are not always registered in the counties in which they operate.

Please provide a list of those you believe to be incorrect.

Hopefully the corrections you requested have been made.

Not wanting to hijack this thread, just some FYI stuff

VP-? (without the third LETTER, may have confused the database engine when originally added to the website. Database scripting engines are sometimes nasty :-)

when entering registrations slowly or when using the <backspace> to correct a fat-finger input...(happens to me when picking airport locations codes for a photo, and not being 'forceful' or quick enough with a mouse button, the DB does not pickup or enter the airport request).

VP-K was allocated to Kenya before change to 5Y-

Some other obscure and some current VP- prefixes:

VP-A Gold Coast became Ghana and was replaced by 9G

VP-A Anguilla Current

VP-B Bahamas replaced by C6

VP-B Bermuda Current Thes two VP-B are interesting..

VP-C Ceylon replaced by CY

VP-C Cayman Islands Current

VP-F Falkland Islands Current

VP-G Guyana replaced by 8R

VP-G Gibraltar Current

VP-H British Honduras replaced by V3 as Belize

VP-J Jamaica replaced by 6Y

VP-K Kenya replaced by 5Y

VP-L British Virgin Islands Current

VP-M Montserrat Current

VP-P Western Pacific Islands (allocation for islands not administrated by Australia or New Zealand and not part of New Hebrides Condo.)

VP-R Northern Rhodesia replaced by 9J as Zambia

VP-U Uganda replaced by 5X in 1962

VP-V St Vincent replaced by J8

VP-X Gambia replaced by C5
