The FAA entry for N9293 is Ries Jodel F-12, Experimental, Amateur Built.
The database profile has now been revised, presumably by another Admin team member, to Ries F-12, Ries being the name of the builder of the kit.
However, from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falconar_F12A_Cruiser
Hans Teijgeler of Jodel.com says that the F12A varies from the D11 by using a new wing design, with new simplified spar and rib design and the dihedral point moved inboard, allowing the outer portion to fold for ground transport or storage, but at the cost of added weight, plus the option of a third seat. Teijgeler describes the wing as "less efficient". Teijgeler also notes that the F12 uses much larger and heavier engines with higher fuel consumption. Teijgeler says of the Falconar F12, "the Falconar 'Jodel' should not be looked upon as a Jodel, but as a Falconar. This is either good or bad. Just a fact to take into account"
The F12A features a cantilever low-wing, two-seats-in-side-by-side configuration, with an optional third seat, an enclosed cockpit that is 44 in (112 cm) wide, fixed conventional landing gear, or optionally tricycle landing gear, and a single engine in tractor configuration.
....... Construction time from the supplied kit is 1200 hours.
My understanding is that Jodel did not use the F prefix in their model range. Their D-12 was designed and then cancelled and therefore the model designation F-12 does not relate to any Jodel designed or built aircraft.
It is clear to me that this aircraft, N9293, was assembled from a kit manufactured by Falconar in North America and should be correctly described as a Falconar F-12A Cruiser and there are 21 other similar entries in the database.
However, since another Admin team member may disagree, I have left the entry as it is for the present!
