Cessna did not use the term Skywagon until the 1969 model year for Cessna 180 production. From 1953 to 1968 model year production the Cessna 180 was known as just the Cessna 180, with prototype 180 starting the year before as a Cessna 170 with larger engine horsepower. N8221V is a 1966 Cessna 180, not a Skywagon.
I did NOT use the term Skywagon upon the first entry of my photos of the 1966 Cessna 180 N8221V. It is wrong of this site to make incorrect foil callouts of specific aircraft nomenclature, and I will continue to bring this to Admin's attention as these errors are found. Please correct your wrong foil on N8221V. Thank you. And, I suspect this error is not just confined to N8221V.
This fine site needs to regain accuracy of production aircraft model nomenclatures for reference acceptance of its aircraft data; that is overwhelmingly important. Otherwise, usefulness to viewers is in question. I have been a member of this site since the year the site appeared, and it appears that old true aircraft data entered may now be found subsequently to be incorrectly somehow changed.
